Hae Choe Dies After Truck Hits Bicycle on El Camino Real Near Kiely Boulevard
SANTA CLARA, CA (November 9, 2020) — An 84-year-old woman died Thursday in a bicycle crash on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard.
According to the Santa Clara County coroner’s office, Hae Sook Choe, of Santa Clara, died in the accident.
Santa Clara Police Department determined that the 84-year-old woman was pedaling westbound in the eastbound lane. Subsequently, a 2010 Ford Ranger began turning onto the roadway from a parking lot but struck Choe.
As a result, Choe sustained a broken pelvis and ribs and died later at a hospital.
Following the accident, the Ford driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, who ruled out impairment as a possible factor in the crash.
Since the circumstances seem unclear at this point, witnesses with information should come forward to help with the case.
