Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Hosking Avenue near Hughes Lane in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 4, 2020) – Authorities identified 72-year-old Elias Samarripas as the man who died in a two-vehicle crash on Hosking Avenue on late Wednesday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near Hughes Lane around 11:15 PM.
 
Based on a report, was driving near the intersection of Hosking and Hughes prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he turned in front of another car and caused the crash.
 
As a result, the Bakersfield Police Department said Samarripas died at the scene. In addition, medics transported a woman in the other car and her male passenger to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
Police did not consider alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
