Driving Under the Influence Causes Fatal Accident in Albuquerque, D’Andrea Smith Dead

 
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (November 3, 2020) – Police identified Sgt. D’Andrea Smith as the victim who died in an accident on Eubank Boulevard on Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the collision happened near Chico Road.
 
Based on a report, the victim was driving her car on her way home at the time of the crash. At the same time, Mohammad Hassani was speeding north on Eubank and crashed into the victim’s car while turning eastbound on Chico.
 
As a result, Smith died in the incident. The victim was a member of Kirtland Air Force Base’s Medical Group.
 
Hassani admitted to police that he had been drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and speeding prior to the crash.
 
He is charged with vehicular homicide. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
