One Killed in Bicycle Accident on West Wabash Avenue [Humboldt County, CA]
Vehicle and Bicycle Involved in Fatal Crash on West Wabash Avenue and Broadway Street in Humboldt County
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (October 24, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a bicycle accident on West Wabash Avenue on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Broadway Street at about 10:35 AM.
Based on a report, responders from Eureka Police and Humboldt Bay Fire found the victim partially underneath a white van. Officers learned that the van was headed toward Broadway when the victim darted in front of it.
As a result, the cyclist died at the scene. The name of the victim was not immediately available.
The driver of the van stayed at the scene and is now fully cooperating with officers. At this time, an investigation is still ongoing.
