Three Vehicles Involved in Crash on Chapman Avenue at Haster Street in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (October 26, 2020) – An officer and three other people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Chapman Avenue on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Haster Street shortly before 3:00 PM.
Based on a report, a Garden Grove police cruiser was traveling eastbound on Chapman at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, a second vehicle ran a red light and struck it. Subsequently, the police unit spun out of control and slammed into a third car containing three people.
As a result, the officer in the police unit sustained minor injuries in the incident. The female driver of the third car, a 16-year-old, and a toddler riding with her were also hurt. Emergency crews sent all four victims to an area hospital. Fortunately, their conditions were minor and not life-threatening.
The crash remained under investigation by the CHP. However, they do not release further details at this time.
