Nola Simonsen Dies After Car Collides With Semi-Truck in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (October 27, 2020) — A 41-year-old woman died Thursday morning following a collision with a semi-truck on East Old Vail Road near South Rita Road.
According to reports, the fatal event took place around 7:30 a.m. in the 9200 block of East Old Vail Road.
Investigators determined that as Nola Rene Simonsen drove her 2018 Ford Escape along East Old Vail Road, it collided with a 2017 Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer reversing into a business.
Simonsen died at the scene after her Ford Escape was found partially underneath the trailer of the semi-truck.
As for the driver of the Peterbilt, he or she was not impaired during the accident and no citations or charges have been issued at this time.
