Mark Layman, Allyson Layman Injured in Fatal Highway 108 Crash [Oakdale, CA]
Mark Layman, Allyson Layman Survive Fatal Oakdale Accident
OAKDALE, CA (October 27, 2020) — A crash that involved a semi-truck crashing into a vehicle on Highway 108 near Mondo Lane left a female driver dead Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly incident befell around 6:15 p.m.
The female driver of an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Impala, for some reason, veered off the road and lost control. Subsequently, the Impala slid sideways into oncoming westbound traffic where its passenger side collided with the front of a 2014 Freightliner.
As a result of the impact, the woman was pinned inside the Impala, which required the assistance of fire personnel. Unfortunately, crews declared her dead moments later.
Fifty-seven-year-old Mark Layman and his 63-year-old passenger, Allyson Layman—both of Demorest, Ga.—survived the accident with only complaints of pain.
At this time, investigators plan to examine all parts of this crash to determine the ultimate cause.
We would like to send our most heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the victim.
