Dustin Ortiz Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on Byron Highway [Byron, CA]
Dustin Ortiz ID’d as Fatal Victim in Semi-Truck Accident on Byron Highway Near Holey Road
BYRON, CA (October 27, 2020) — The 35-year-old man who died following last Thursday’s semi-truck crash on Byron Highway near Holey Road has been identified.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Dustin Ortiz died at the scene after his semi-truck drifted over the double yellow lines and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Subsequently, his vehicle overturned off the side of the highway around 6:25 a.m., immediately drawing CHP officers to the scene. As for the Ford driver, he or she escaped injury, say reports.
At this time, an autopsy will be needed to confirm if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. If anyone has information related to this crash, please contact the Contra Costa officers at 925-646-4980.
