One Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 710 Freeway [East Los Angeles, CA]
Fatal Vehicle and Pedestrian Crash on 710 Freeway in East Los Angeles
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (October 24, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on northbound 710 Freeway on early Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Cesar Chavez Avenue at approximately 2:10 AM.
Based on a report, the pedestrian had been lying in the lanes prior to the crash. As a result, a vehicle came and struck the victim. It is not yet clear if the vehicle driver stopped at the scene.
Consequently, a representative from the coroner’s office said the pedestrian died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the identity of the victim pending kin notification.
Officers closed the first and second lanes of the freeway while a clearing operation took place.
No other information was available at this point. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
