Matthew Loper Dies in Crash With School Bus on National Trails Highway [Barstow, CA]

Matthew Loper Killed in Barstow Head-On Accident

 
BARSTOW, CA (October 26, 2020) — A 35-year-old man died following Thursday’s head-on crash with a school bus on National Trails Highway near Hodge Road.
 
The deadly accident happened around 8:00 a.m. Under uncertain circumstances, Matthew Derek Loper‘s Nissan Sentra collided with a Riverside Prep School Bus.
 
Neither of the 12 students on board the bus nor the driver sustained injuries; however, Loper, of Helendale, perished at the scene.
 
At this time, investigators need witnesses’ help in identifying the ultimate cause of the crash and to call dispatch at 760-241-1186.
