Bicyclist Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on West Highway 140 in Merced
MERCED, CA (October 23, 2020) – Crews rushed a bicyclist to the hospital following a hit-and-run accident on West Highway 140 on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near the Arco AM/PM gas station at approximately 12:05 AM.
Based on a report, Merced police responded to the area and located a man in his mid 20’s with injuries. Upon assessment, the victim was riding a bicycle when an unidentified vehicle struck him. In addition, the victim was not using a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
Emergency crews transported him to the hospital in an unknown condition.
The vehicle left the scene after the incident. Police are reviewing video in the area at this time. In addition, they are requesting anyone with any information regarding this collision to contact the Merced Police Department Tipster Line at (209) 385-4725.
