Two Bicyclists Struck by Drunk Hit-and-Run Driver on Montano Road near Coors Boulevard in Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (October 12, 2020) – Police arrested Joshua Downs after a hit-and-run crash on Montano Road on Monday afternoon.
According to Albuquerque Police, the collision happened at the intersection of Coors Boulevard.
Based on a report, the 29-year-old driver admitted to drinking whiskey at a nearby gas station shortly before the crash. Subsequently, he struck two bicyclists who were riding along Montano Road. He took off after the collision.
As a result, one of the victims, a woman, suffered critical injuries in the incident. There’s no word on the condition of the other bicyclist.
Police later found Downs at his house where he admitted to drinking prior to the crash. Finally, they charged him with vehicular homicide. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
