Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Imperial Avenue Near Viewcrest Drive [San Diego, CA]
One Fatally Struck by Car in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Imperial Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 12, 2020) — A 29-year-old woman died following Thursday’s pedestrian accident on Imperial Avenue near Viewcrest Drive.
According to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened around 8:10 p.m.
In the 7200 block of Imperial Avenue, a 2005 Mercedes-Benz heading westbound on Imperial Avenue struck the woman outside of a marked crosswalk.
During the investigation, the 52-year-old driver stated she did not see the pedestrian until too late. As a result, the pedestrian died at the scene.
At this point, police officers do not suspect that the driver was under the influence. However, an investigation regarding the circumstances and ultimate causes continues.
