21-Year-Old Woman Killed in Rear-End Crash on 15 Freeway [Escondido, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Overton Rear-End Crash on 15 Freeway
ESCONDIDO, CA (October 14, 2020) – Police are now investigating a fatal rear-end crash on 15 Freeway on Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 9th Avenue at approximately 4:30 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was riding as a passenger in a silver Honda CRV. Due to an unknown reason, the front passenger side of the SUV struck the rear driver’s side of a truck. Subsequently, the SUV veered out of control and rolled over, coming to rest across the two right-hand lanes of the freeway.
As a result, the 21-year-old Escondido died at the scene. Her name was not immediately available. In addition, the driver of the truck, a 44-year-old Moreno Valley man, and the 23- year-old Escondido woman behind the wheel of the SUV were all not hurt in the incident.
Police are still working to determine the major factor in this collision. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
