Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on Mount Alifan Drive [San Diego, CA]
Vehicle Hits Motorcycle Before Crashing into Apartment Gate near Mount Alifan Drive
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 11, 2020) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash on Mount Alifan Drive on early Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Mount Aguilar Drive around 5:40 PM.
Based on a report, a 63-year-old man driving a 2008 Cadillac CTS was exiting a shopping center driveway at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, he slammed into the 25-year-old motorcyclist. The victim’s 2018 Honda sportbike ended up in the bushes. Subsequently, the Cadillac kept going until it smashed into an apartment gate.
As a result, the impact broke the rider’s femur and caused other serious injuries.
The San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating the case. Officers said a sobriety check cleared the Cadillac driver of possible DUI charges. However, they still ask anyone with information about the crash to call police at 619-531-2000 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-580-8477.
