Christopher Carnel Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Hueneme Road Near Edison Drive
PORT HUENEME, CA (October 8, 2020) — A motorcyclist died hours following Sunday’s fiery accident with two other vehicles on Hueneme Road near Edison Drive.
According to news reports, the fatal incident occurred around 2:07 p.m.
Details noted that the 57-year-old motorcyclist, operating a 1986 Harley-Davidson, was heading eastbound on Hueneme Road behind a Nissan sedan.
Subsequently, the Nissan driver attempted a left-hand turn to park on the north side of the road. However, during this maneuver, the motorcyclist reportedly tried passing up the Nissan at the same time, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.
The impact sent the motorcyclist traveling eastbound, out of control, before hitting a Chevrolet parked on the north edge of Hueneme Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, the Harley-Davidson caught on fire with Christopher Carnel pinned underneath the motorcycle.
Paramedics quickly responded and transported the 57-year-old Agoura Hills man to a nearby hospital where he died around 8:23 p.m.
At this time, authorities have not determined if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the accident. Although they encourage anyone with more information to contact the Ventura Area CHP at (805) 662-2640.
We would like to express our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Christopher Carnel.
