Injuries Reported After DUI Collision in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 26, 2020) — A woman sustained injuries after a DUI driver crashed into several vehicles in a head-on accident on University Avenue in North Park.
According to the San Diego Police, the crash happened around 11:00 p.m.
Inferring from cell phone footage captured by a witness, investigators determined that the driver slammed into several parked vehicles and left the scene. He subsequently ended up on the wrong side of the street where he crashed into another vehicle head-on.
From there, the man exited the vehicle and tried running away but witnesses grew successful in detaining him until police arrived.
Per reports, paramedics shuttled the driver to a hospital and determined that he had been under the influence at the time.
As for those injured, a woman suffered minor injuries and sought hospital care shortly after the accident.
