Man Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 126 Near Peck Road [Santa Paula, CA]
Driver Dies in Collision With Semi-Truck in Santa Paula
SANTA PAULA, CA (September 28, 2020) — One man died Friday morning after his truck crashed in a semi-truck accident on Highway 126 near South Peck Road.
According to news reports, the deadly event took place around 10:22 a.m.
California Highway Patrol reported that a 53-year-old Oxnard man driving a silver 2014 Chevrolet Silverado collided with a 1997 Freightliner semi-truck under unknown circumstances.
Per investigations, the Oxnard man was traveling along the right-hand shoulder of the westbound highway prior to the crash with the big rig in the second lane.
At some point during the incident, the Chevrolet Silverado traveled down an embankment and overturned several times in an agricultural field.
Not long after, Ventura County firefighters responded and tried tending to the victim’s injuries; however, efforts fell short as the man died at the scene.
According to CHP officers, the 52-year-old semi-truck driver from Bakersfield stayed at the scene and waited for authorities to arrive.
