Man Dies in Lancaster Bicycle Accident
LANCASTER, CA (September 28, 2020) — A bicyclist died Friday morning after being struck by a car on West Avenue I near 55th Street West.
According to a statement from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, the fatal incident happened around 4:44 a.m.
For unknown reasons, a man driving a Honda CRV eastbound on Avenue I struck the adult man riding the bicycle.
Investigations showed that the bicyclist was also traveling eastbound on Avenue I.
Due to the impact, the bicyclist sustained severe injuries before dying shortly after.
At this time, the cause and liabilities demand more examination. However, authorities have ruled out alcohol and drugs as contributing factors in the accident.
