GILA BEND, AZ (September 29, 2020) — Three people died Friday morning after a semi-truck and a minivan collided on Highway 85 near the 8 Freeway.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident happened around 9:00 a.m. just south of Gila Bend.
 
Under unclear circumstances, a semi-truck and a minivan collided head-on. Shortly after the impact, one of the cars ruptured into flames and three people died in the minivan.
 
The semi-truck driver was able to escape the fire with minor injuries, say reports.
 
However, at this time, details as to what drove the crash or where the fault lies remain ambiguous. Anyone with more news about this accident should contact the DPS.
