Injuries Sustained in Two-Vehicle Crash on Shasta Street near North Market Street in Redding
REDDING, CA (September 30, 2020) – Authorities reported that a CHP officer suffered injuries in a red-light crash on Shasta Street on Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at North Market Street at approximately 9:10 AM.
Based on a report, the officer was driving a marked Chevrolet Tahoe away from an initial collision when the incident happened. At that time, a white Ford Edge ran a red light at Shasta Street. Subsequently, the SUV struck the officer’s Chevy.
As a result, the officer and the man driving the white SUV sustained minor injuries.
The collision caused a backup at Market Street and cars traveling toward Highway 44 had to be rerouted down California Street.
