Man Dies in Acton Single-Vehicle Accident on Highway 14
ACTON, CA (September 22, 2020) — A single-vehicle accident on Highway 14 near Forest View Road Sunday night turned fatal.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the tragedy befell around 8:50 p.m. and involved a 1995 Toyota Corolla.
Heading southbound on Highway 14, the driver operating the Toyota drove in a westerly direction for unknown reasons. Subsequently, the car traveled into the right shoulder lane, became airborne and crashed into the bottom of a descending embankment.
After striking the embankment, the Toyota crashed into a barbed-wire fence, continued out of control onto Forest View Road before it overturned and traveled off the roadway.
According to statements, the Toyota finally came to a stop after it slammed into a chain-link fence and ejected the driver from the car.
Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle, who was only described as a Palmdale resident, sustained fatal injuries. His passenger survived the accident and is recovering at Antelope Valley hospital with major injuries.
