2 Killed in Accident on Highway 168 Near Mile Marker 11 [Moapa, NV]
Fatal Moapa Car Accident on Highway 168
MOAPA, NV (September 22, 2020) — A single-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon on Highway 168 near Mile Marker 11 tragically claimed two lives.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers, the accident happened about an hour northeast of Las Vegas Valley.
Per troopers, a 1995 Lexus sedan, heading westbound on Highway 168, entered the right shoulder and overcorrected. Subsequently, the Lexus crossed the eastbound lanes and left the road before crashing into a ravine.
As a result of the crash, the 19-year-old driver and a 29-year-old passenger sustained fatal injuries. Both of the victims had been unrestrained. In addition, reports described them as California residents.
In the investigation, detectives determined that impairment might have played a role in the crash.
