Marisa Guerreiro Killed in High-Speed DUI Crash on Highway 95 [Lake Havasu City, AZ]
Marisa Guerreiro Dies in DUI Accident on Highway 95 Near Price Drive
LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (September 24, 2020) — A high-speed DUI accident on Highway 95 near Price Drive turned fatal Monday.
According to reports, the incident happened around 1:50 p.m.
Lake Havasu City police officers reported that a 2001 gray Toyota Avalon heading northbound on the highway began to drift toward the center median. As a result, the car came back onto the road yet collided with a northbound 2008 silver Ford Edge.
From there, the Avalon crossed the center median. After that, it traveled into oncoming traffic where it crashed into a southbound 2015 Ford Edge.
Unfortunately, the Avalon driver — 33-year old Lake Havasu City resident Marisa Guerreiro — died in the accident.
According to Det. Chris Angus, she was ejected from her car after having not worn a seatbelt.
In the investigation, police determined that excessive speed and impairment led to the incident.
To the family and friends of Marisa Guerreiro, we would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to you.
