Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-Run on Citrus Avenue [Fontana, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Motorcycle Crash on Citrus Avenue near Curtis Avenue in Fontana
FONTANA, CA (September 20, 2020) – A motorcycle rider suffered injuries in a hit-and-run on Citrus Avenue on early Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Curtis Avenue around 5:57 PM.
Based on a report, the 59-year-old man in a Harley Davidson motorcycle stopped in the northbound lanes of Citrus Avenue for a red light. Due to an unknown reason, a dark grey Lexus rear-ended the motorcycle and then fled the scene.
The Fontana Police Department said the motorcyclist was hurt in the incident. Medics transported him to the hospital for treatment. However, his condition is still unknown at this time.
A witness attempted to follow the suspect vehicle into the Sierra Lakes community, but the driver was driving recklessly and running stop signs and so the witness could not keep up. So, the police are now seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of the Lexus. The suspect vehicle has front end damage to the right-side fog lamp area of the car.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to not leave the scene after an accident. However, wait for the authorities to arrive. In addition, always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
