Minerva Icezagacruz Killed, Sergio Garciagarcia Injured in Car Accident on Road 23 [Mattawa, WA]
Car Collides with Semi-Truck in Fatal Accident on Road 23 SW near Highway 243 in Mattawa
MATTAWA, WA (September 19, 2020) – Police identified Minerva Icezagacruz as the victim who died in a car accident on Road 23 SW on Saturday evening.
According to the Washington Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Highway 243 just before 06:00 PM.
Based on a report, Icezagacruz was a passenger in a Honda Pilot that failed to yield at a stop sign. Consequently, a semi-truck driving along the highway hit the car.
Icezagacruz and the car driver were reportedly not wearing their seatbelts. As a result, Icezagacruz, 33, died at the scene. The driver, Sergio Garciagarcia, suffered injuries. Medics used an air ambulance to transport him to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved. However, police continue to investigate the case.
