3-Year-Old Hit, Killed by Pickup Along Meats Avenue Near North Tustin Street [Orange, CA]
Toddler Dies After Being Struck by Driver in Orange at Meats Avenue Near North Tustin Street
ORANGE, CA (September 22, 2020) — A 3-year-old boy died Sunday after being struck by a pickup truck at a mobile home park along Meats Avenue near North Tustin Street.
According to Orange police Sgt. Phil McMullin, the tragic event took place around 7:15 p.m. at 1931 East Meats Avenue.
Around 7:19 p.m., officers received a call and immediately responded to find a child with severe injuries. Wasting no time, police officers performed CPR, but despite these attempts, the 3-year-old succumbed to his injuries.
An investigation determined that the boy was riding his bike around the mobile home park neighborhood with his sibling when a 23-year-old driver in a RAM pickup struck him.
The woman operating the RAM stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigations.
Per McMullin, officers did not place her under arrest and neither alcohol nor drugs had played a factor in the accident.
Still, the crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the bereaved family and friends of the victim.
