Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on Inyo Street [Bakersfield, CA]
Hit-and-Run Vehicle Sought after Major Motorcycle Crash on Inyo Street near Monterey Street in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 14, 2020) – The Bakersfield Police department said that a motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run on Inyo Street on early Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Monterey Street around 2:00 AM.
Based on a report, the victim was riding an off-road motorcycle southbound on Inyo when he attempted to cross Monterey Street. Due to an unknown reason, an eastbound vehicle struck him. Afterward, the vehicle then fled the scene.
Medics found the man on the road suffering from major injuries. Emergency crews transported the victim to Kern Medical in critical condition.
Police said the suspect vehicle is possibly an older small pickup, similar to a Datsun or an unknown color sedan. They are asking anyone with information on the case to call BPD at 661-327-7111.
