Brenda Cuff Killed in Crash With Semi-Truck on 5 Freeway [North Everett, WA]
Brenda Cuff Dies in Accident With Big Rig on 5 Freeway Near Highway 529
NORTH EVERETT, WA (September 15, 2020) — A woman died Monday following a two-car crash involving a semi-truck on the 5 Freeway near Highway 529.
According to a crash report, Washington State Troopers and paramedics arrived at the scene around 5:10 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found a significantly damaged Honda Odyssey minivan and a wrecked tractor-trailer.
Soon after responding, paramedics pronounced the Honda driver—36-year-old Brenda L. Cuff of Everett—deceased at the scene.
Her 37-year-old passenger, a man from Arlington, was found unharmed, as well as the 36-year-old British Columbia man driving the semi-truck.
At this time, the factors that drove the accident remain unclear. However, authorities have determined that the Honda tried passing the semi-truck at excessive speeds before slamming into a guardrail and ricocheting into the semi-truck.
If anyone has additional information surrounding this fatal crash, please contact the Washington State Patrol.
Our heartfelt sympathies are with the bereaved family and friends of Brenda L. Cuff.
