Driver Killed After Two Semi-Trucks Collide in Laguna Accident on 40 Freeway
LAGUNA, NM (September 10, 2020) — A Fresno California man died after two semi-trucks collided in an accident on 40 Freeway near Milepost 109.
According to New Mexico State Police, a 2014 Kenworth CMV and a 2001 Freightliner CMV, both traveling east, collided.
Inferring from evidence at the scene, detectives believe the Kenworth driver failed to slow down behind slow traffic and rear-ended the Freightliner.
As a result of the crash, the 53-year-old Fresno man operating the Kenworth sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The 26-year-old Freightliner driver from Lynwood, Calif. escaped harm.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation and anyone with information should call the New Mexico State Police.
