18-Year-Old Man, Two Adults Hospitalized after Multi-Car Crash on 48th Drive [Phoenix, AZ]
Four Vehicles Involved in Crash on 48th Drive near McDowell Road in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (September 8, 2020) – Medics sent an 18-year-old man and two adults to the hospital after a multi-car crash on 48th Drive on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened at McDowell Road at approximately 11:30 PM.
Based on a report, Phoenix Fire crews found four cars in the middle of the intersection. However, they did not state the details that led to the accident.
Emergency crews said the 18-year-old man and two people aged 29 and 30 suffered serious injuries. Crews sent them to the hospital for treatment.
The crash shut down traffic in both east and west directions on McDowell road through the afternoon.
The cause of the pile-up is under investigation. At this point, officers don’t have additional information.
Do not tailgate other vehicles to avoid a multi-car crash. However, manage your speed, wear seatbelts, and follow traffic lights at all times.
