17-Year-Old Driver Arrested after DUI Crash on Garcia Street [San Luis Obispo, CA]
SUV Crashes into a Home on Garcia Street near Pareira Drive in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (September 9, 2020) – Police arrested a teen driver after a DUI crash in the 1400 block of Garcia Street on Wednesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Pareira Drive at approximately 10:30 PM.
Based on a report, the teen was driving the SUV with minors as his passengers after a theft at a local grocery store. Due to an unknown reason, the vehicle crashed through the front of a home. Subsequently, it traveled through several rooms before partially breaking through the back of the house.
As a result, San Luis Obispo police said three adults inside the house were hurt in the incident. Medics sent one of the victims to the hospital for serious injuries.
Police said four teens between the ages of 14 and 17 were inside the SUV at the time of the crash. They arrested the 17-year-old driver on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and suffered minor injuries.
