One Dead in Multi-Car Accident on 80 Freeway [Dixon, CA]
Four Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on 80 Freeway near Midway Road in Dixon
DIXON, CA (September 7, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a multi-car accident on 80 Freeway on early Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Midway Road at approximately 2:30 AM.
Based on a report, the incident happened after a blue Audi A5 driven by a 26-year-old San Jose man collided with a white BMW 328i. Both drivers went out of their vehicles when a gray Toyota Camry driven by a 29-year-old San Rafael woman came and crashed into the BMW. Subsequently, the three cars hit the people standing in the center median. In addition, a gray Honda Civic driven by a 17-year-old Elk Grove resident entered the crash scene and hit one of the cars.
As a result, medics said they pronounced the driver of the BMW deceased at the scene. The victim was standing outside her vehicle when she was hit. CHP did not immediately disclose the name or city of residence of the victim. In addition, the other drivers suffered minor to moderate injuries.
