Dawn Card and Danny Soto-Partida Killed, Wayne Woods Injured in Highway 60 Accident [Curry County, NM]
Dawn Card and Danny Soto-Partida Die, Wayne Woods Hospitalized Following Head-On Collision on Highway 60 Near Milepost 365
CURRY COUNTY, NM (September 10, 2020) — Two people died Tuesday afternoon following a tragic head-on collision on Highway 60 near Milepost 365.
Around 3:43 p.m., Curry County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene after learning about a head-on car accident.
Upon arriving, they determined that a 2006 Mazda sedan and a 2016 Nissan sedan had crashed.
Inferring from the evidence at the scene, police believe Wayne Woods’ westbound Mazda had traveled into the oncoming eastbound lanes where it struck Danny Soto-Partida’s Nissan sedan.
However, detectives have not determined the ultimate cause that drove this car accident.
In its wake, the head-on collision left 47-year-old Soto-Partida and his passenger, 44-year-old Dawn Corrina Card, dead at the scene. Reports described them as San Andreas, Calif., residents.
Meanwhile, paramedics brought 36-year-old Woods, of Melrose, to Plains Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Since details remain unclear at this time, an investigation concerning the cause and other factors remains.
We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the friends and families of Danny Soto-Partida and Dawn Corrina Card.
