Drunk Driver Killed in Accident on Borrego Springs Road near Highway 78 in Borrego Springs

 
BORREGO SPRINGS, CA (September 3, 2020) – Police confirmed that a 52-year-old man died in a DUI crash on southbound Borrego Springs Road on Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Highway 78 around 4:10 PM.
 
Based on a report, the man was driving his 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck when it veered off the roadway. Subsequently, it struck a signpost and rolled over in the lanes.
 
Authorities pronounced the man dead at the scene. They did not release his name pending kin notification.
 
Police said intoxication was a suspected factor in the crash. However, they continue to investigate the case.
