Elderly Man Walking His Bike Struck by Vehicle on Jefferson Street at Rubicon Street in Napa
NAPA, CA (September 3, 2020) – An elderly man suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Jefferson Street on mid-day Wednesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Rubicon Street at approximately 11:30 AM.
Based on a report, the 77-year-old victim was walking his bike on the way to Lucky Market when the incident occurred. Due to an unknown reason, a vehicle came and struck him after he stepped about 5 feet into the crosswalk.
As a result, medics found the man unconscious in the lanes. Crews from the Napa Fire Department treated him at the scene before taking him by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Medical Center.
The driver of the car stopped and cooperated with the police. Speed and distracted driving did not appear to be factors in the incident. However, the Napa Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
