One Killed, Two Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Esplanade Avenue in San Jacinto

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (September 5, 2020) – Police identified Angel Rodriguez as the victim killed in a two-vehicle crash on Esplanade Avenue on early Saturday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Hewitt Street just after 4:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, two vehicles collided in the lanes, trapping the victim inside one of the cars. However, officials did not yet release the details that led to the fatal collision.
 
Deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station, along with Cal Fire-Riverside County Fire Department and AMR personnel, responded to the scene. Crews helped to extricate 32-year-old Rodriguez of San Jacinto from a wrecked vehicle. As a result, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
The deadly accident forced the hours-long closure of the roadway.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash is still unknown. However, police continue to investigate the case.
