Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Merced on Martin Luther King Jr Way

 
MERCED, CA (September 3, 2020) — A man passed away following Tuesday’s pedestrian accident on Martin Luther King Jr Way near West 11th Street.
 
According to police, the pedestrian, described as a male, was hit and dragged along the 1100 block of Martin Luther King Jr Way.
 
Unfortunately, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries.
 
As for the driver, he did not appear to be under the influence of any type of drugs or alcohol. In addition, police ruled out speed as a possible driver in the accident. However, they did cite him for being underage and not having a driver’s license.
 
Officer Craig McKeeman further added that the pedestrian had been walking in the middle of the roadway at the time of the crash.
 
Still, the crash remains unclear and anyone with information should call detectives.
