Joshua Hindley, Douglas Edgmon Sustain Major Injuries in Crash on Bluff Street [Ferndale, CA]
Speeding Leads to Accident on Bluff Street near Grizzly Bluff Road in Ferndale
FERNDALE, CA (August 27, 2020) – Police identified Joshua Hindley and Douglas Edgmon as the victims who sustained major injuries in a crash on Bluff Street on Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Grizzly Bluff Road just before 7:00 PM.
Based on a report, 39-year-old Hindley of Ferndale was driving his 2005 Cadillac sedan at a high rate of speed on eastbound Bluff Street at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway. Subsequently, its passenger side collided with a tree.
Medics said that Hindley was not wearing his seatbelt. As a result, he suffered major injuries in the collision. His passenger, 39-year-old Edgmon of Fortuna, was wearing a seatbelt but also suffered major injuries. Emergency personnel transported both parties to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment.
It is not known if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision. However, the CHP Humboldt Area office is continuing to investigate and asks anyone who may have information to contact the office at 707-822-5981 or send an email to humboldt_area.humboldt_area@chp.ca.gov.
