Woman Dies in Two-Car Crash at Decatur Boulevard and Oakey Boulevard [Las Vegas, NV]
1 Dead in Two-Vehicle Accident in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 27, 2020) — A 79-year-old woman died Tuesday afternoon following a two-car crash at Decatur Boulevard and West Oakey Boulevard.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the crash happened around 3:15 p.m.
Investigators believe a Nissan Altima traveling southbound on South Decatur Boulevard tried attempting a left-hand turn onto eastbound Oakey Boulevard. However, a northbound traveling Kia Optima struck the passenger side of the Nissan at the intersection.
Following the accident, paramedics arrived and shuttled the drivers of the vehicles, as well as a Nissan passenger, to local hospitals.
Soon after, police learned from the coroner’s office that the Nissan passenger, described as a 79-year-old North Las Vegas woman, succumbed to her injuries.
At this point, authorities have much to investigate, such as the cause of the accident and where the fault lies.
