2 Dead, Child Injured in Rollover Accident on Highway 65 Near Galleria Boulevard [Roseville, CA]
Fatal Rollover Car Accident in Roseville
ROSEVILLE, CA (August 27, 2020) — A rollover accident on Highway 65 near Galleria Boulevard turned fatal Monday, killing two people and a dog.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash not only left the pair deceased, but a 12-year-old child hospitalized.
Based on witnesses’ reports, authorities confirmed that a 2001 Ford Expedition, traveling about 70 miles per hour in the middle northbound lane, swerved left for unknown reasons. Subsequently, the SUV overturned onto its roof near the center divider around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, authorities found the male driver and the female front seat passenger, neither of whom had been wearing their seatbelts, deceased at the scene. Unfortunately, a dog also died in the accident.
Per authorities, the 12-year-old girl, who’d been the only one wearing her seatbelt, suffered moderate injuries and arrived at UC Davis Medical Center a short time later.
Reports featured no information on the fatal victims’ identities; however, they described them as a 41-year-old Elverta man and a 43-year-old Oroville woman.
At this time, it’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash, but an investigation into this account remains
Our deepest condolences go out to the bereaved families and friends of the victims.
