Three Killed in DUI Accident on Highway 97 [Cle Elum, WA]
Drunk Driver Charged in Fatal Crash on Highway 97 near Blewett Pass in Cle Elum
CLE ELUM, WA (August 28, 2020) – Police confirmed that three people died in a DUI accident on Highway 97 on Friday.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened near Blewett Pass.
Based on a report, a 43-year-old woman from Yakima had been driving under the influence prior to the crash. Consequently, her vehicle collided with at least two other cars.
As a result, a passenger in her car died at the scene. In addition, crews said that a 19-year-old female and a 61-year-old male in a second car also died in the collision. WSP did not yet release the victims’ identities pending kin notification.
Finally, police charged the woman with 3 counts of vehicular homicide. However, an investigation is still ongoing.
