Hit-and-Run Bakersfield Crash on Highway 178 near Kern River Canyon
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 30, 2020) – At least one person suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 178 on Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the mouth of the Kern River Canyon at approximately 2:00 PM.
Based on a report, officers responded to the area after receiving reports of a collision. A reckless driver collided with another vehicle and left the scene. At this point, details about the incident are not yet complete.
Emergency crews rescued one person in the area. However, officials did not yet release the condition of the victim.
Officers are still working to identify and locate the suspect. At this point, an investigation into the case is on-going.
