Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Imperial Highway [Santa Fe Springs, CA]
Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck on Imperial Highway near Shoemaker Avenue in Santa Fe Springs
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (August 28, 2020) – Police confirmed that a Whittier man in his 60s died in a motorcycle crash on Imperial Highway on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Shoemaker Avenue around 4:00 PM.
Based on a report, the victim fell by the rear wheels of a semi-truck and was run over. Both vehicles were heading west on Imperial when the motorcycle traveled between the truck and another vehicle as the light turned red. Due to an unknown reason, the victim fell near the rear wheel of the semi’s trailer. When the light turned green, the truck moved and ran over the rider and the motorcycle.
As a result, medics sent the motorcyclist to the hospital, where he later died. Officials did not yet release his identity.
CHP officials don’t have additional details this time. However, they ask anyone with information about the crash to call them.
