Carlos Rivera Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run on Dinuba Boulevard [Visalia, CA]
Skateboarder Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Visalia
VISALIA, CA (August 28, 2020) – Police arrested Carlos Rivera after a fatal hit-and-run on Dinuba Boulevard on Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the Orchard Walk shopping center at Riggin Avenue around 8:15 PM.
Based on a report, the 51-year-old man was driving his car when he struck a skateboarder who was heading north on Dinuba. Immediately after the collision, the vehicle fled the scene.
As a result, emergency crews found the unconscious male victim in the roadway. Police confirmed that he died at the scene. At this point, they have not yet released the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
Later on, officers found the car abandoned and an investigation led them to the home of Rivera. Finally, they arrested and booked him into Tulare County Pretrial Facility on suspicion of hit-and-run causing great bodily injury.
