Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Bicycle Crash on 1st Avenue near Jasmine Street in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 29, 2020) – Medics airlifted an elderly bicyclist to the hospital after a hit-and-run on 1st avenue on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened between Jasmine Street and Silica Drive just before 7:00 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was riding a bicycle at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, a gray van struck him and fled the scene.
Victorville Fire crews requested a helicopter to land at Desert Valley Hospital to transport the bicyclist to a trauma center. Officials identified the victim as a 74-year-old Asian male adult.
A witness said that a female driver and a male passenger were inside the van. At this point, police do not have any information about the suspects. However, they continue to investigate the case.
