2 Killed in Mount Charleston Car Crash at Kyle Canyon Road
MOUNT CHARLESTON, NV (August 24, 2020) — A single-car crash at Kyle Canyon Road near Echo Road left two people dead and three others injured Saturday.
According to reports, the Nevada Highway Patrol arrived at the scene around 5:40 a.m. to find a black Nissan Altima.
Investigators believe the Nissan driver had failed to negotiate a curve on the road. The car then struck a guardrail, causing the car to rotate down an embankment. Subsequently, the Nissan slammed into a large tree and overturned, killing one passenger and the female driver.
Three other occupants sustained unknown injuries and received treatment at UMC trauma after being airlifted.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation as the NHP determines the cause. So far, detectives believe neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
