Fatal Albuquerque Head-On Accident on 25 Freeway

 
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (August 24, 2020) — Two people died following Friday’s head-on accident on the 25 Freeway near Gibson Boulevard Southeast.
 
According to police, the Friday morning crash involved a wrong-way pick up that veered off the freeway and onto a street below where it caught on fire.
 
As a result of the impact, the pickup truck driver died in the accident.
 
Police believe the vehicle was heading southbound on the northbound 25 Freeway when the head-on collision occurred. An occupant of the SUV that collided with the wrong-way driver died in the accident and another SUV occupant sustained unknown injuries.
 
The cause of the accident remains unclear, but authorities plan to investigate this crash further.
