Injuries in Multi-Car Accident on 8 Freeway Near Mission Center Road [San Diego, CA]
Motorcycle Car Accident on 8 Freeway in San Diego Involving Multiple Cars Ends in Injuries
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 21, 2020)—At least one person was injured following Wednesday’s multi-car accident on 8 Freeway near Mission Center Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 10:15 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a motorcycle and its rider in the center divider lane. Additionally, they found a Mazda CX-5 in the slow lane and on fire, along with two other vehicles that appeared to have been involved in the accident.
During the investigation, the Mazda driver informed officers that a crash had occurred in front of her before she attempted to swerve out of the way. However, something became stuck underneath her vehicle and ignited.
According to CHP officers, at least one person suffered minor to moderate injuries; although, it’s unclear whether the rider had been among those injured.
If any witnesses have information surrounding the cause and circumstances of this crash, please contact the CHP.
