Haley Skufca Dies in Head-On Accident on North Valley Drive [Las Cruces, NM]

One Killed, Four Injured in Head-On Crash on North Valley Drive near Vilitta Loop in Las Cruces

 
LAS CRUCES, NM (August 15, 2020) – Police identified Haley Skufca as the victim who died in a head-on crash on North Valley Drive on Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the New Mexico State Police, the incident happened near Vilitta Loop.
 
Based on a report, a 2001 Oldsmobile was traveling north on North Valley Drive at the time of the crash. Due to an unknown reason, it crossed over the double center line into oncoming traffic and collided head-on into a 2017 Honda that was headed south.
 
As a result, a passenger in the Oldsmobile, Haley Skufca, 27, of Las Cruces died from their injuries. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Las Cruces suffered unknown injuries. Medics took him by ambulance to the Mountain View Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Honda, a 70-year-old woman from El Paso, suffered unknown injuries and was taken to Mountain View Regional Medical Center before she was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso. In addition, officials did not release the conditions of two other women in the Honda.
 
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. However, police continue to investigate the case.
